Owner Builder Guides and References:
In creating this group of reference pages I make the assumption that you have already made the decision to act as your own Builder/Contractor. In my opinion being an owner builder can be a great experience and save you a huge amount of money on a new home The key is knowing all you can about what it means and what is involved when you take the role of "Owner Builder" on a new home construction project. Over my career I have read dozens of books and "How To Guides" and found some to be real good and allot to be a waste of paper. What I hope to do here is give you a chance to have and find good selected information and resources that will save you time by avoiding the filtering process of information and give you just the good stuff minus allot of fluff and wasted paper products. This will help speed the process of gathering the vital information you need to act as and take the role of Owner Builder. Unless you are a professional Builder with several house builds under your belt you are going to have to get educated. There is no short cut in this part of the process and to be a successful Owner Builder you are going to need to know and have available the right information or you are going to fail. Building a house is easy if you know how.
